Self Governance
Hosted by Arthur
In this Thursday’s Ascension Connection Call, we are going to explore the question, How much of your sovereignty do you consciously give away each day and how much are you giving away subconsciously?
When we hear the words Self Governance, we may immediately think about government as something outside of ourselves. A system of laws, institutions, leaders, and authorities that tells us what we may or may not do. But what if the first government we are called to understand is the government of the self?
Self Governance begins with a simple question. Who or what is governing me? Every day, we are surrounded by influences that can affect how we think, feel, behave, and make choices.
We live among an ever-growing web of frequencies and electronic technologies, cell phones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, smart devices, cell towers, satellites, and countless other signals moving through the environment around us including the frequencies we emit ourselves.
We make choices about the food we eat, the water we drink, the products we put on and in our bodies, and the information we accept about health and wellness.
We experience the weather and our environment, while also hearing increasingly about technologies capable of influencing atmospheric conditions and modifying weather.
And then there are the less visible influences of What captures our attention or What shapes our beliefs? What influences our emotions? What tells us what is normal? What determines what we fear? What determines what we consume?
Because every time we automatically accept something without examining it, every time we surrender a choice because it is easier, every time we allow an outside influence to determine what we think, eat, believe, or do; we relinquish our authority.
Nature gives us an interesting reflection. The sun does not need a government to tell it to rise. The seasons do not require legislation to change. The rivers follow their natural courses, and the stars move according to an order greater than any institution we could create.
If we possess the capacity to observe, reason, discern, choose, and accept the consequences of our choices, then Self Governance may begin with becoming responsible for what is within our own sphere of authority.
Perhaps sovereignty is not something that exists only in a document, a declaration, or a political system. Perhaps sovereignty is practiced through thousands of small decisions every day.
Self-Governance may therefore be less about controlling everything around us and more about cultivating awareness of what is within our authority to choose. Greater awareness empowers us to make choices from discernment rather than from conditioned programming. And perhaps this is where individual sovereignty and community governance meet.
And if I learn to govern myself, if I become more conscious, discerning, responsible, and willing to accept the consequences of my choices, what becomes possible when self-governing individuals come together to govern their families and communities?
Perhaps the restoration of liberty does not begin at the courthouse, the capitol, or the ballot box.
Perhaps it begins within.
So today, let's explore not merely whether we are sovereign, but whether we are conscious of our sovereignty.
Where, each day, do I consciously exercise my sovereignty—and where might I be giving it away without even realizing it?
We hope you will answer this Invitation to Reflect Together.
This open call is a space for curiosity, reflection, and shared exploration. It is not about arriving at fixed answers, but about asking meaningful questions together with openness, humility, and discernment.
