The Moon
Hosted by Rob Stevens
Our closest celestial body is the Moon. Despite its proximity there is plenty of mystery surrounding it. The Moon has a great deal of influence over life on Earth and yet modern societies are on the whole oblivious to lunar cycles.
It is clear the Moon is responsible for the tidal motion of our seas. Many marine creatures and plants align their lifecycles with the orbit of the Moon. There is evidence to suggest that human bipolar disorder and sleep patterns may synchronize with phases of the Moon. For example we have in the Journal Nature, 2017, this reference. I’ve seen other studies that suggest when there is a full Moon we go to bed later and our sleep is less deep.
For the Astrologically inclined the Moon is known to represent and relate to emotions, instincts and the unseen or unconscious. Within a Tarot card deck the Moon is regarded as a sign that everything is not what it seems. It can represent underhand behaviour, deception and illusion.
Well, where did the Moon come from? There are three main theories that are generally given.
* Early in Earths history a passing asteroid was captured by our Planets gravitational field. This same thinking has been applied to the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos. Phobos and Deimos are significantly smaller. Our Moon is very much larger so this seems unlikely to me.
* The Moon formed at the same as the Earth from a swirling disc of dust and debris in the very beginning.
* A Mars size planet, that has subsequently been named “Thea”, collided with the Earth sending material out into orbit That material coalesced into the Moon we have today.
In support of the third “collision” theory, samples of soil from the Moon have a “very similar” composition to Earth. I have some doubts about this regardless of whether we believe the Moon landing was faked or not.
At this stage I would like to provide four definitive, accepted facts about the Moon that are either obvious or readily observable and measurable. Ask yourself what are the odds on this happening naturally by chance?
* The Moons rotation and its orbit around the Earth are the same so we always see the same face from Earth. As a consequence there is a dark side that we can never see from Earth.
* The angular size of the Moon is exactly the same as the Sun. During a solar eclipse the Moon passes in front of the Sun blocking it exactly with only the corona of the Sun just visible.
* Seismometers were placed on the Moons surface as part of an experiment by NASA to determine its composition. The Apollo12 ascent module was then deliberately crashed into the Moon to send vibrations down through its interior. Think of this as a crude sonar experiment. It is well documented the vibrations from the crash continued for 50 minutes. Apollo 13, 14 and 15 repeated this experiment where the vibrations were recorded for between 30 minutes and 3 hours. This research was shutdown in the late 1970s. So the Moon rings like a bell !!
* The Moon has an unusually low density that can be calculated by knowing thegravitional pull and centripetal force in orbit are essentially in balance.
It seems inconceivable to me that the ancient, cultural and spiritual perspective I opened with above and the established facts are not somehow two sides of the same coin.
Lets now consider oral tales and legends past down through history that purport to tell us about the Moon. I have seen many sources that say the Moon was not always present. Here are a few for you to consider ...
* Zulu Legends say the Moon is a hollow structure brought here deliberately by two ancient brothers, Wowane and Mpanku, and placed in Orbit. This resulted in massive upheaval and disruption of the natural order.
* The Greeks. Aristotle references the Arcadians, “who existed before the Moon graced the Sky”. Plutarch also wrote of the Arcadians as an ancient people “in the age before the Moon”.
* The Chibcha people in Columbia have preserved tales of a World without the Moon. There were dark skies with just the stars. They say the Moons arrival was a pivotal moment that changed the balance and rhythms of the planet.
* The indigenous Cree from North America speak of “the nights with no Moon” and its arrival causing dramatic disruption, chaos and change.
* The “Babylonian Gap”. The Babylonians are regarded as astute astronomers, accurately and meticulously charting the movement of the stars, planets and comets. However when it comes to the Moon there’s silence, a gap in early Babylonian records. This omission is conspicuous. Later texts do refer to the Moon and the Moon god “Sin” (?).
Hopefully this demonstrates that there is indeed mystery surrounding the Moon. It is in many ways an oddity and this merits consideration of the facts and perhaps fiction.
I haven’t even mentioned the Norse belief in Ragnarok yet. The use of remote viewing to “see” what’s in and on the Moon and photographs of the Moons surface that appear to show artificial structures. So I invite you to join in on Thursday nights Ascension Connection Call, February 26th to discuss the evidence, and more, that all is not what it seems.
